SIMPLE is a creation for educators and community organizers who are tired of relying upon webmasters for common and frequent tasks of updating web pages. For those who are comfortable with markup language and the basics of FTP use, SIMPLE has everything needed to build large sites from scratch. For others, SIMPLE automates tasks necessary for doing basic work of updating. At the same time, it makes processes of directory navigation and text markup transparent, allowing users to become comfortable with relevant tasks. Tag marking visually simplifies the quick update of text, while a click allows quick review of basic HTML rendering. Text size adjustment, window elasticity and tint selection are provided to improve visibility. One button returns the file to the server, and one button allows instant display of the page in the user's own web browser.
All basic FTP tasks, including directory creation and file or directory deletion, can be handled withSIMPLE. Editing tasks are streamlined, and turn-around is instant. PDF and image files can be reviewed, downloaded, or uploaded. All work can be saved locally as well as online.
SIMPLE allows whole pages or parts of pages to be sent from the desktop to the web without the strange renderings of apostrophes and diacriticals that often occurs. It also permits all languages and scripts that are written horizontally to be rendered correctly on the web. SIMPLE is based on Unicode-16, and will translate imported text to Unicode before supplying HTML markup language. 简体字, 繁體字, 한국말, にほんごのひらがn, العربية اللغة, עִבְרִית, Русскоыеыазик, Türkçe or any other horizontally-written language can be perfectly reproduced in HTML without tedious consultation of Unicode or HTML tables. Correctly coded text may be inserted selectively, or the entire document may be written in the editor and either posted to the web or saved to the desktop for further work.
While SIMPLE will automatically supply HTML markup for those who don't wish to bother with it, the editor also permits the insertion of XML, PHP, CSS-related and any other commands, as well as AppleScript and JavaScript, for those who wish to include it. The FTP is integrated and the editor is infinitely flexible.
